using SnipSnap to create and manage to do lists
I use the SnipSnap
weblog macro for to do lists and with a little tweaking it works surprisingly well.
- start a new snip called "to-do" or something similar containing the weblog macro.
- post entries to it every day you have a new to do item, don't give the post a title. I use a bulleted lists for each day with a new item marked with a new bullet.
- To stop the list getting too long and older items dropping off the default list of posts defined in the weblog macro, create a new page that will contain a list of all your entries, or if you prefer add to the bottom of your to do list page.
- Install the excellent TimeLine macro.
- add timeLine macros to your all entries snip, for example
{timeLine:year=2005|type=weblog|weblogsnip=Work/blog}
{timeLine:year=2004|type=weblog|weblogsnip=Work/blog}where
Work/blog is the snip that contains your original
weblog to do list.
- When a day's to dos have all been completed add an anchor macro to the top of the post
In the list of to dos generated by the
timeLine macro you will see that day's entry with the word
completed by the side of it. In this way it is easy to spot days with unfinished items.
