dotAtelier is an experimental multimedia workspace for the construction of virtual reality. It is programmed in Java and offers interactivity for experimentation in visual-sound spaces. Generate nature-music in imaginary mind-space.
dotAtelierI have recently used the techniques developed with this interactive application to generate nature-music which is used as the basis for video soundtracks. Elements of the sounds of birds and insects are extraced and modified, then repeated to create rhythms and continuity. The accompanying animated graphics were developed in various urban and nature contexts to create ambiences from ocean and coastal spaces to urban abstractions. For example,
animated nature uses the call of the butcher bird and the paper wasp to generate its audio. Animated graphics are of the nature of the east coast of Australia. The
dotAtelier blog talks about the techniques and other issues related to digital art.
The Java program at
eliterature has now been overtaken by other developments. The converter is now unnecessary.
The Manly Blog is a
place blog for Manly, Sydney's top beach resort. It is concerned with sustainability in this unique environment. The images and posts are great.
