Installation Instructions

1. Download the software package: ftp://snipsnap.org/snipsnap/snipsnap.tgz
2. Extract the archive using

   tar xvfz snipsnap.tgz

   It will create a subdirectory snipsnap-version-date where all necessary files are.
3. Make sure your JAVA_HOME environment variable is set to a Java SDK 1.4 or above home directory. (For example, see Set JAVA_HOME on Mac OS X)

cd snipsnap-version-date
./run.sh

Windows Start the server:

cd snipsnap-version-date
run.bat

How to Upgrade

• Download the software package as explained above.
• Export your database! (see Backup and Restore)
• Stop your currently running server!
• If the version page says, no export is needed, just extract the new package and start again.
• Run the repair script:

java -jar lib/snipsnap-utils.jar repair SnipSnapDump.snip Repaired.snip <path-to-application-dir>

• Install the new server and import the dump.
