Why is snipsnap GPL ?

We decided to use the GPL because we wanted and have to keep the IP rights. But we think that wiki and weblog tools will be a commodity. Money can be better earned from selling support and features-development than licening costs.

SnipSnap is also used as a tool for several of our other research projects.

The prime income of Fraunhofer is consulting, not selling IP rights.
